YANA Club of Newport County celebrates 4th anniversary
The YANA Club of Newport County is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides a safe and welcoming meeting space for individuals and families impacted by addiction. Each week, YANA’s clubhouse at 770 Aquidneck Ave. in Middletown hosts meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Overeaters Anonymous and Adult Children of Alcoholics.
Founded in 2021, YANA – short for You Are Not Alone – was created on the belief that everyone deserves a supportive, non-judgmental place to begin or continue their recovery journey. What began as a small group seeking healing through twelve-step programs has grown into a vibrant community hub offering daily meetings, peer support, access to helpful resources, and a welcoming space for connection.
For four years, YANA’s spacious clubhouse has served as an inclusive gathering place for residents and visitors on Aquidneck Island. The organization is funded primarily through private donations, club rental fees, and member dues.
YANA will mark its fourth anniversary with a member celebration on Friday, Sept. 26, from 5–8 p.m. at the clubhouse. The evening will feature dinner, dessert, refreshments, raffle prizes and a Silent Auction. The celebration continues with YANA’s inaugural Golf Scramble Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Jamestown Golf Course. Registration is open through Sept. 21 at yananewport.com/golf-fundraiser.YANA’s Board of Directors and volunteers invite the community to join their anniversary events andexplore upcoming fall programs.
