YANA of Newport – Code of Conduct
The YANA Club exists to support recovery in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. This Code of Conduct reflects our shared commitment to maintaining a space that fosters healing and community for all who enter. By attending meetings or events at YANA, you agree to the following principles:- I will comply with all applicable federal, state (Rhode Island), and local laws.
- I will not bring or use drugs or alcohol on the premises.
- I will not smoke, vape, chew, or use tobacco products inside the building. Designated outdoor areas are provided for smoking.
- I will help keep the facility clean and orderly, leaving it as good as—or better than—I found it.
- I will not bring pets or animals into the building, with the exception of certified, leashed service animals.
- I will not damage, deface, or destroy any property belonging to YANA, its members, or visitors.
- I will not leave personal belongings unattended without prior approval from the YANA Board of Directors.
- I understand that overnight stays or sleeping on the premises are not allowed under any circumstances.
- I will avoid any disruptive, aggressive, or threatening behavior that could compromise the safety or comfort of others.
- I will refrain from any inappropriate or unwanted sexual behavior.
- I will not leave children unattended while on YANA premises.
- I will only use the kitchen for food preparation or storage in connection with scheduled and approved meetings or events.
Consequences for Violations:
Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:- Removal from the premises
- Temporary or permanent loss of access to the facility
- Requirement to submit a written appeal for reinstatement
- Possible legal consequences, including restitution and/or prosecution in accordance with Rhode Island law
