Recovery Through Connection
The YANA club is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization providing a safe, comfortable facility where groups devoted to 12 Step Recovery Programs can meet. We furnish modern meeting facilities for 12-Step groups, spiritual recovery groups, and similar groups dedicated to health and wellness. Each week at YANA, there are meetings for community members who participate in Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Overeaters Anonymous, and Adult Children of Alcoholics.
While YANA is open to everyone, this independent non-profit is supported and funded by our Membership community, private donors, rental fees, and grants. These funding sources allow us to maintain a state-of-the-art, welcoming, and safe facility for these groups.
Thank you for helping us make YANA is a fun, positive social environment for anyone seeking recovery.
YANA welcomes all who seek help, hope, and healing—regardless of background, belief system, or stage of recovery. Our doors are open to:
- Individuals recovering from alcohol or substance use
- Friends and family members affected by addiction
- People navigating food addiction or compulsive behaviors
- Adults who experienced trauma or dysfunction growing up
- Anyone seeking community and structure during emotional hardship
Our clubhouse is open daily, providing a consistent schedule of meetings and a peaceful space for self-reflection, connection, and support. We follow clear guidelines for behavior and safety, ensuring that everyone feels respected, heard, and secure during their recovery process.
Many of our meetings are hybrid (in-person + Zoom), helping us support those who are homebound, live out of town, or prefer a virtual setting. No matter how you attend, you’re part of the YANA community.
Whether you’re attending your first meeting or returning after years of recovery, YANA of Newport is here for you. Join us at one of our daily meetings, explore our meeting schedule, or get in touch to learn more about the programs we offer.
Our History
Newport County YANA Club—short for You Are Not Alone—was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, supportive place to begin or continue their recovery journey. What began as a small group of people seeking healing through Twelve Step programs has grown into a welcoming recovery clubhouse offering daily meetings, community support, and connection.
After traveling around the country and visiting many clubhouses offering 12-step meetings, the founders were inspired to bring such a place to Aquidneck Island. The vision was an accessible building with separate meeting rooms, a kitchen, and plenty of parking where people could experience the welcome that coming into a 12 Step Meeting always brings.YANA has become a consistent, inclusive home for recovery meetings and fellowship since August of 2021, and harkens back to the early days of Alcoholics Anonymous, where a handful of people gathered in homes and church basements to share their experience, strength, and hope.
